Customer comments:
I’m really excited that something like this exists, its a great idea! I’ve told all my friends.

Hi Tamara!
The products that I have been receiving from DigIn have been awesome! I am so thankful that you are running this service.
I LOVE to cook and have been doing some great things with the ingredients that I have been getting from you…I braised the lamb shanks on Sunday and served them over mashed Yukon golds (YUM!).
-Dawn

Thank you and all the farmers for offering this. -Jill

-We will definitely still use the online farmer’s market even when the physical one opens up because of how convenient it is. The online farmer’s market is the most convenient for us. Plus, sometimes when we have gone (to a physical market) they have run out of stuff we had wanted to purchase so the online market is even better to reserve what we will want or need. Jennifer

- It’s easy to make the order and then you’re committed, whereas a trip to the farm stand may get crowded out by other plans. We probably will use DigIN during growing season.= Scott

Because I wish to purchase my goods from the local source whenever possible. You have made it so easy and convenient for people to do so and that is really appreciated. I would say that I would continue to use the online service even ‘in-season’ when the other markets open for the variety of products offered (meats, coffee, etc.) and to continue supporting local business in my area. Having such a great assortment of products allows me to shop on line as well as locally at the markets because of the variety of items I would purchase on a regular basis. Thanks for asking and for creating a fantastic resource for those of us who choose to ‘buy fresh, buy local’.- Denise

- Convienience is the most beneficial- its easier to fit in time in the day to go on the computer for 10 min then drive a bunch of places. also things you would have to hear about through the grapevine, such as a specific kind of meat being at this or that farm, you can find out about with ease on the website. also a lot of farmers markets are open at different times, so you have to make multiple trips to get everything, this is only one trip, which makes it easier to eat local all the time, rather then just when you manage to get to all the farms you need for all your ingredients or courses.- Jenna

The online market works great because of the convenience and variety that you will not get at just one outdoor farm stand. It saves gas & time as well as effort. I will still be using this service in the summer months & are grateful for all of your efforts- June

We are often crazy on weekends and I have decided to remain a
customer of yours rather than renew at a community supported garden, because it gives me more freedom of choice- Danielle

Will I have to buy vegetables I don't want?

Nope. We are a just like a traditional farmers’ market, where you visit the vendors and select only the products you want!

Unlike some co-ops, buying clubs, or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of stuff (and you don’t know what you’re getting until you get it), with DigIN on the Farm, you get to order what you want, in the quantities that you want, from the farms that you want. The weekly email lists the produce, flowers, meats, herbs, honey, eggs and more- all locally grown or raised, directly by Sussex and Warren County NJ farmers- available that week, and you can browse the items on this website before you place your order.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ORDER each week. There are NO minimums. Order as frequently – or infrequently- as you wish. Order as much or as little as you need.

When do I pay?

We accept cash or checks when you pick up your order. CHECKS PAYABLE TO: Tamara Scully.

You are able to pay by credit card ONLINE VIA PAYPAL, a free user service.
PLEASE REQUEST “paypal invoice” on your order, and we will send it! YOur meat orders need to be calculated to exact weight before we can tally your order total and send the invoice. Paypal goes to: digin@tamarajeanscully.com

ANY RETURNED CHECKS WILL BE CHARGED A $35.00 FEE, PLUS ANY ADDITIONAL BANK EXPENSES OVER AND ABOVE THE FEE, SO PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE WRITING A GOOD CHECK.
Some items sold by the pound, particularly meat, can not be calculated accurately until pick up day. When you place an order, your invoice will indicate the total AS IF all packages of meat were one lb. THIS IS NOT ACCURATE, however, wIthin 24 hours of placing your order, we will adjust your account based on the approximate weight of the cut of meat you have ordered. Please log back in to get a better estimate of your total due.The exact weight- and therefore price- will be determined on-site.

Are there membership fees?

To help us provide direct farmer to consumer services, we ask that you pay a very small fee of $12.00 per household for one calendar year. You are welcome to try us for two orders before officially becoming members.

This fee helps us to plan needed availability and quantitites, pay web site expenses and continue to offer products at reasonable, fair prices. We realize that those who have paid the S12.00 membership fee are going to continue to order in the future, as this small fee signifies their commitment. And, we appreciate our members and think that you will receive back a whole lot for that $12.00 year fee!

Why Support Locally Grown?

The mission of DigIN on the Farm services is to promote local foods from the ground up- beginning with the farmer!

“Growing local farming, so we all have local food!” is our motto. Local food is for everyone.

Enhance our local economy: By purchasing produce and other items from local growers you are providing stability to your local economy through the support of local businesses. This allows our rural areas to remain rural, our farms to remain viable an to re-establish themselves as a economic force in Sussex and Warren counties.

Save natural resources: Buying locally makes you an invaluable link in the process of saving resources such as fossil fuels and packaging materials. Also, we are right here in your community so the expense of transportation and delivery is kept to a minimum. Additionally, our farmers are very aware of their environmental impact and have made growing practice choices to reflect their stewardship responsibilites. These are not black-and-white areas, but come in shades of gray, and require an educated discussion on many, many issues. But rest assured, this is not corporate “profit at all cost farming” that traditionally fills our supermarket shelves! visit: www.truecostoffood.org for more information!

Provide learning opportunities: Locally Grown supporters provide member growers the means to help educate our community about the importance of sustainable agriculture. We are available for speaker presentations on local food.

Supporting a way of life: The number of small farms in the United States has decreased dramatically in the last decade. Please help us preserve an honest and worthy means of making a living.

We believe that small, diverse, family-owned farms contribute to society’s overall health.

How can I sell through this market?

Contact tammy@tamarajeanscully or call 973-219-5693 if you want more information.

This is a local growers’ only venue and the more DigIN on the Farm knows about you, the better we can serve your needs through our many other programs as well!

All vendors will be inspected by the market manager to insure accuracy of products grown/raised and all details.

Non-farm vendors who offer locally-made “from scratch” food products: we have limited openings at this time, as we are focusing on farmers who are adding value to their own products. But we do welcome inquiries.

How do I form a buyers' club and what are the benefits?

A buyers’ club is simply a group of people living in the same area or working together, for whom ordering as a group is convenient.

They combine their orders and place one large order, and one designated person picks up the order each week, then distributes it to the group.

This is a perfect arrangement if you live further away from our pickup points, yet still want to enjoy local farm food!

One person will be the main contact and set up registration and do the ordering. A club places ONE order, and is responsible to further divide into member orders on its own.

Club membership of $25.00 year- instead of individual $12.00/year is offered as an incentive.

Clubs will also be offered occasional discounts (like wholesale pricing) for large quantities ordered as a group.

What do we do in case of inclement weather on pickup day?

IF we have snow/ice and hazardous conditions, please call the market manager BEFORE heading out.

We will make our best effort to reschedule pickup if inclement weather is expected.

We will attempt to notify everyone by phone/email to arrange an alternate pickup date/dates to meet your needs.

Fundraising Opportunities!

A FRESH idea in fundraising! Forget about ordering silly “gift” items no one wants or needs!

Churches, schools, clubs and non-profit organizations can all benefit by hosting a one-time market event.

We will give you a product listing to distribute to members as well as a distribution date. Orders are placed by accessing our special events web site address.

There will be one week to place orders, which will then be picked up at your location two days after ordering finishes.

We deliver a box of products, as ordered, from our farm vendors, labelled and ready to go to each customer! We will also have a small display of items for last minute purchasing.

We process all the money, and your organization receives a percentage of overall sales!

Fresh, local farm food for your members. Support local farming while supporting your group!
